Trevor Eakin - Vice Chairman (Montrose)

Trevor has worked in different employment sectors and in the latter stage of his career he was
employed in the Finance industry, working for an international company based in Edinburgh. In
November 2001 he was knocked from his motorcycle and this resulted in him being paralysed from
the chest down at the level of T4. He retired from his job on a disability pension in 2003. In
2004 he was invited onto the board of directors and voluntary council of SIS then the Executive
council in 2005 and was appointed Vice Chairman in September 2007. Since becoming involved in the
voluntary sector Trevor has also been heavily involved in the prevention of spinal cord injury
and in fighting to help the community in any way possible. Since 2004 he has taken part in Safe
Drive Stay Alive talking to 12,500 school pupils and advising his local council on accessible
housing. Trevor lives in Montrose.
