Over 420 guests were wined, dined and were royally entertained at the 7th annual Digby Brown Winter Dinner Dance for Spinal Injuries Scotland. The dinner managed to raise the phenomenal amount of £46,000 to continue to provide the vital services for those with spinal cord injuries.
This year the event, not only included a champagne reception, but a display of champagne cocktails provided by the entertainment act Bar Wizards who did a floor show to kick off the evening. The four course dinner was followed by entertainment act Divas Las Vegas who visually stunned the guests with a vibrant cabaret act.
Games for the evening included the now familiar charity casino, as well as the tombola and the silent auction but the biggest attraction was the grand prize draw where one lucky person won a car which was kindly provided by legal firm Digby Brown Cochran Dickie. James McLaughlin will certainly not forget this night in a hurry.
Robert Swanney, of Digby Brown Solicitors said: “This event is rapidly becoming a not to be missed occasion in the social calendar. We believe the key is to alter the format and ring the changes every year. I am heartened to see year on year familiar names appearing on the guest list each helping to raise vital funds for Spinal Injuries Scotland.”
Adrian O’ Donnell, Chairman of Spinal Injuries Scotland said: “From the feedback we have received this has been our best year yet, both in terms of the format of the dinner as well as the funds raised. Next year is our 50th anniversary, so we have already started planning what is sure to be something quite spectacular.”
